What is Proof For BP?

Stay informed on the truth to BP oil spill!

Welcome to ProofforBP.com

Recently, several victims of the BP Oil Spill expressed that enough was not being done to document the damages that have been incurred and the lives that will be impacted forever. Our goal with developing this website is to inform the public with updates surrounding the BP Oil Spill and its impact on residents across five states. Consider this information to not only be a valuable resource, but also for everyone to express their thoughts and experiences from the Gulf Coast to South Florida.

We’re proud to offer a forum which allows for input from the general public, who wish to share first-hand knowledge of what’s happening on a daily basis in their respective coastal communities. We’ll pass along information from governmental agencies, environmental groups and community groups. We’re all in this together and certainly the need for a communications vehicle to provide accurate and non-biased information is important. We encourage you to forward real-life stories which have been documented from our nation’s coastal communities. You may forward photos as well as provide your video link information to our team of researchers to share with the rest of our nation, and the world.

You may check our Press Section for news stories and see what media are reporting on a regular basis. Feel free to share your thoughts on our Blog. And, if you wish to express yourself with a commentary, by all means, please forward commentaries that are 400-words or less.

We will build this site with relevant information and, along with your input, will build an information source that may be appreciated by all of us. We can not only rely on “fed” information from BP and some of the biased (and planted) messages which are being churned out by BP. This site will allow for open and constructive comments. If, by chance, you’ve had a positive interaction with BP, please share that as well.

Of course, check our Photo Gallery and Video Gallery to get a feeling of what is really happening with this unfortunate disaster which is affecting the lives of all United States citizens.

The BP Gulf Oil Spill

Five states were impacted by largest and worst oil spill in U.S. history when an oil well blew out and killed 11 workers on April 20, 2010. The BP Gulf Oil spill will have lingering effects for years on Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Millions of tons of oil leaked into the gulf for months, until the well was officially capped.

The government’s involvement in the oil spill has failed the American people and the most alarming part was the discovery that the Obama’s administration blocks efforts by government scientists to tell the truth about the oil spill. According to reports, the federal government proved that it was not competent enough to handle to the disaster or they are deceiving the American people by withholding the truth of the crisis.

There is also a demand for truth to the BP claim as to why the company posted an operating profit up 18.3% from last year. As for those families who lost loved ones on April 20, 2010, there is a need for the truth to BP claim as to why BP and Halliburton used the cement that was supposed to seal the well when tests have showed that the mixture was unstable. The problem has certainly not gone away although media reports and politicians suggest otherwise.

Losses and Claims from the BP Oil Spill

In the aftermath of the April twentieth explosion, businesses and communities around the gulf felt the surge of the financial impact that this disaster would have. Losses from the oil spill came from fishing companies, tourist industries, boating industries, etc. Several businesses, especially in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, literally made no money the entire summer.

The oil spill claims process began when President Obama and BP hired Ken Fienberg to head the process of handing out $20 billion to people and businesses that were affected by the BP gulf oil spill. Hundreds of victims are still without reparation and most of the confusion stems from the lack of clarity in the initial administrative tasks within the oil spill claims process.

There has been a tremendous economic loss to those fishermen who rely on the harvest of the gulf coast to make a living. The economic loss to fishermen, especially those that live in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, was so severe that the payout money could not cover the entire loss, even for years to come.

The Florida coastal victims who were affected by the BP Gulf Oil Spill lived all along the west coast of Florida and even up the peninsula towards South Florida. Although oil never made it to the east coast of Florida, public fear of the crisis worked to lower profits of fishing industries, tourist industries, and the like.

Angry boat lovers had to cope with the damage to their motorboats from the oil spill and manufacturers of marine engines have now posted advisories about what to do if your engine comes into contact with oil. The impact on the yachting industry has also stretched to include the cruising industry. A major problem for boaters is that most insurance companies will not payout any claims because the incident was too widely reported.

BP Oil Spill Response, Recovery and Clean Up Operations

The BP oil spill response and recovery process is still far from complete. So far the $20 billion BP compensation fund has yet to compensate many struggling victims. Many victims in Florida with proximity claims condemn the BP oil spill response and recovery process.

The federal government and BP claim that most of the oil in the gulf is gone, although independent scientists argue otherwise. There is too much crude beneath the surface to acknowledge the end of the oil spill clean up operations. Scientists also argue that the oil spill clean up operations conducted by BP did not include a proper investigation of the lingering damaging effects we might experience to the environment and to the humans exposed.

Pollutants from the BP Oil Spill: Affect on Humans and Environmental Damage

Researchers are still discovering the effects of those people who have come into contact with pollutants from the oil, but they known the interaction is detrimental to human health. Much is unknown about the extent of environmental damage because the oil spill was unprecedented in size.

Although the federal government now claims that much of the oil is gone, either by evaporation or cleanup operations, independent researchers have reported otherwise. Scientists have discovered amounts of crude below the sea’s surface and on the ocean floor that are too big to ignore. In the future, it is predicted that the gulf will continue to see detrimental effects of the environmental damage when the oil that remains is absorbed by organisms further deeper into the water.

One of the most horrific and desperate acts of government was to incorrectly inform the public about seafood safety, in order to try and save the businesses that relied on the gulf coast. However, outside sources continued to broadcast coverage of the threat of the oil spill on human health.
